As Gandhi once said: “Whatever you do in life will be insignificant but it is very important that you do it… you must be the change you want to see in the world”.
Dear Expat community, Crea tu Espacio Foundation is looking for your help. Currently, lots of children and teenagers who comes from an internal and external immigration are suffering various violations of their rights, among the most important we highlight their right for an equal education. During COVID-19 this situation became more complicated where access to technology was a limitation for children to continue with their studies.
Because of this, Crea tu Espacio Foundation launches the campaign “Godmother, Godfather for a day”, which seeks charitable people who wish to sponsor a child or adolescent in this new school year that has begun virtually. With your help we are going to be able to raise enough money and assure that our children and adolescents complete their studies, having greater opportunities to enter university that will help them to find a suitable and stable job. With your help we will be able to build a better future for our country and our world.
Help us building a better future for us and especially for them. To be part of this amazing project you can enter this link https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/godmother-and-godfather-for-a-day/ and contribute with an economic collaboration thattwill help us changing the life of these children, adolescents and their families.
For more information you can also visit our web page: https://www.fundacioncreatuespacio.org/ – https://youtu.be/_nrsvDvOyPk
Thanks for being part of this change.

We are a family of four adults, Canadian/British; my husband and myself retired, our two adult daughters and two grandchildren, 6 and 1 year, respectively. Most of the adults work online/early mornings.
We are moving to Ecuador and plan on travelling around the country for a few months until we decide on our long-term location. Immigration is in process.
Presently we live in Costa Rica and have a wonderful family helper/nanny. She is from Nicaragua but unfortunately, although we have offered to bring her with us to Ecuador….she has declined. Sadly, we will part ways.
My cat, Simon, was last seen near Solano and Arelio Auquilar about 5 days ago. He is a year-old neutered male. He is white with gray on his head, a gray spot on his nose, and a gray spot on his back. He has a tiger striped tail and tiger stripes on the inside of his back legs. I am offering a $20 reward for his return.

“Learning a foreign language as an adult is different than learning as a child.”
I think it’s safe to say you’ll agree with me on that one.
“Learning happens naturally for children, whereas adults have to study long and hard.”
This is typically the next thought that follows that previous statement. But this is where we’ve gotten things all wrong.
As adults, we tend to think that “learning” means stuffing your head in a book, writing for hours and repeating the same words over and over again meaninglessly, until it all clicks and you “supposedly” learn the language.
It’s not our fault, we were simply brought up this way.
I am available to provide my designs and for the implementation of urban gardens, gardens, greenhouses, permaculture, chakras, technical advice on agroecology, edible forests, etc.

With Mother’s Day coming faster than you can blink an eye, it’s always good to plan ahead. If you want to rent a car from Cuenca Car Share to go out to dinner or travel around the country, contact me ahead of time. Sometimes all of our cars have been spoken for. Please don’t hesitate to set up your appointment in advance to rent a vehicle.
If you want to travel but can’t, because you don’t have a car, call me. We’ll have a late model car available for your travel date, if you reserve ahead of time. This is a great time to visit the suburbs or wander the mountaintops on your own or with a driver-guide – just watch out for landslides and road blockages which will soon be over, and always allow plenty of time for stopping to look around. We have a variety of options available for you. Free kilometers may be included, depending on the length of your rental. We may offer you a discount if you rent for a longer time. Car insurance is always included (it is usually extra if you rent from a big rental company). Let’s talk.
If you, or someone you know, has a vehicle that is just sitting around idle and you keep paying and paying, maybe we can help you earn a little on your asset by coordinating its use with us at Cuenca Car Share. Just leaving a car sitting is not good for it – nor is starting it every day just to circulate the gas. Let us help you.

We thank you for your patronage, which has made this possible.
We have the best foods for your cats and dogs: Royal Canin, Pro Pac, and Complete. We also have a wide variety of beds, leashes, cat trees, kitty litter, airline approved carriers, and toys for your babies. Come visit us in any location. You’ll be glad you did.
We continue to offer our on-going promotions and we always have a discount of 5% when you pay in cash or with your debit card. We also have delivery service to your home and we can receive payments with national credit cards by using Datalink!
We also support F.A.A.N., an animal rescue group. If you wish to make a donation of items for their use, please feel free to leave it at any of our locations and we will make sure they receive it. In these difficult days, the 120 dogs they support in the rescue as well as the dogs they feed on the street will thank you with all their hearts. If you aren’t sure what they can use – food and money, of course – just ask at our stores and we’ll be happy to advise you.

Massage and holistic therapy
If you need stress relief, bodily healing, or mental clarity, I highly recommend giving Maria Eugenia (aka Maru) Cobos a visit. She’s a phenomenal massage therapist/holistic therapy practitioner.
I am never more relaxed or mentally awake than after one of her sessions. I see her weekly when I’m in Cuenca and dearly miss her life-changing work when I’m away.
Her new office, located two blocks from Parque Calderon, is open and is using COVID-safe precautions.
With Maru, you’ll be in the best hands possible. And her rates are very reasonable too. I cannot recommend her more highly.
Her new Facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/equilibrioysaludcuenca
