Visa question

Has anyone had the experience recently of going to Peru and returning to Ecuador with a new visa? I’m asking for a friend whose temporary visa is about to expire and she needs more time in order to resolve issues related to extending her stay as a volunteer worker. She has a facilitator helping her and going to Peru would be a last resort if it is still an option.

Thanks

Patricia

Passport renewal

Good Morning, I plan to travel to Guayaquil to renew my passport which expires in March. I have form D-82, two color 2″ by 2″ photos on a white background, my cedula and driver’s license for other photo I.Ds, my old passport and one copy, a birth certificate and a copy, and money to pay the fees.

My questions are: Is it true that the Guayaquil Consulate only excepts walk-ins between 8:30 and 9:30 on Fridays now? Are there any requirements I might have forgotten? Any recommendations for a buseta service that would drop me off in front of the Consulate on time traveling from Cuenca? Any problems I don’t anticipate? Thanks,

Wayne Bryant

Temporary resident visa

Hello Everyone,

I will be volunteering (with a little bit of pay) for one year starting in November. I am speaking with Joseph Guznay who I know comes highly recommended but $500 is a bit out of my price range. Does anyone have experience applying for temporary resident visa themselves and would be willing to offer some information? Thank you very much, I so appreciate any help you have.

This festival pays tribute to Baroque and Renaissance music, stylistic times rarely attended by large symphony orchestras, as they require smaller groups and with fewer instruments than a current symphony orchestra.

The first professional symphony orchestras were born much later, at the beginning of the 19th century, when the symphonies of Beethoven and successors caused a great impact on the population of Vienna and, later, in other European capitals.

Previously, the orchestras were small groups of strings, with the continuous “forced” bass and, with more or less regularity, some wind instruments. For a long time the performances were limited to the palaces and halls of counts – like Esterházy in Hungary, where Joseph Haydn had his orchestra (of 12 musicians), cardinals, and in general, of governments and the church.

In the middle of the 18th century, Antonio Vivaldi and contemporaries began composing music without ecclesiastical purposes, the first concert music. Being virtuosos of their own instrument – Vivaldi of the violin, Bach of the harpsichord – caused a sensation in the public, which was no longer exclusively of the “nobility”, but were ordinary citizens, bourgeois in their nascent self-confidence as the new social class dominant.

Lassie

Lassie, a small/med size Golden Labrador mix, is a very sweet and gentle girl about 3-years old. She’s been groomed, spayed and has received all annual vaccinations.

When her owners moved away, they tied her inside the house. The next-door neighbor heard her cries for help and broke into the house to save little Lassie.

Lassie is a sweet adorable and manageable doggie with excellent manners.

Would you consider giving her a chance in a real loving home? She will love you and I know you will love her.

Dear el Vergel neighbors – alert – we need your help, please

My husband saw a German Shepherd in el Vergel that was being confined to the front of a house. His body is covered with flies and inside his ears too. We suspect maggots are in his ear as well. We can get help for this doggie, but we can’t find him.

Proximity of Work Center and trying to find his way to SuperMaxi. He got lost and can’t remember where the poor doggie is. We spent nearly 2 hours searching today.

Please contact me immediately if you see or know of this doggie. Gross neglect is against the law. Here are some contacts of people I know who are bilingual and can file the report with:

Ever wonder why your actions don’t match your conscious beliefs and goals? That’s because the subconscious mind is 90% in control, and you are unconscious of exactly what beliefs it contains. These beliefs, manifested as energy blocks, can be cleared very quickly and easily.

Everyone these days is very highly programmed, stemming from early childhood, adult traumas, society, and even the media. With Subconscious Clearing, you can install the default beliefs that you choose, helping you manifest the life that you choose.

During this process, you are 100% conscious, and 100% in control, and we work together to help you achieve your goals. It’s safe, fast, and effective. And often life-changing. $40 for a 90-minute session, discounted to $30 for your first visit.

What’s holding you back?

Testimonials:

“I think it’s wonderful to work with Jan on Subconscious issues. She’s like a beacon that helps shine light on one’s issues so that they can be freed up from the body-mind connection…The process is simple, and she creates a safe space to work in…if you’re debating using this modality, give it a try! What do you have to lose? Except a non-workable story, some stuck-ness, worry, concern, or emotional pain.“ Jenice McAlevy, Vilcabamba, Ecuador

“I highly recommend Jan’s subconscious clearing modality. It has radically altered my life and has been such a liberation it’s hard to quantify. The beauty of it is its simplicity, as well as personal empowerment. Jan is a facilitator I felt at ease with sharing whatever came up that needed clearing, and her own experiences and understanding of the process lend tremendous insights and wisdom to the experience. It’s done with genuine care but without my feeling uncomfortable or personally intruded upon in the least, helping me over very big hurdles with actual ease. Quite remarkable and genuinely empowering and liberating is the best way I can summarize my experience.” D.F., Ecuador

Needless to say, I think she is great and highly recommend her!” Linda Chase, Cuenca

Recommendation for EAT, restaurant

If you are looking for the best Eggs Benedict…. we found ’em! Jaffe and I cruised down the Tomebamba and into EAT this morning and – after complimentary mini-scones with apricot butter (not margarine) and fresh OJ – enjoyed the perfect eggs benedict. ‘Squishy’ (still not sure of the Spanish translation for ‘squishy’) yolks, smoked bacon and superb hashbrowns. EAT continues crafting high end comfort food at Ecuadoran prices. We shall be making that hike for Eggs Benedict at least once a week now that we have found a new ‘home for the Hollandaise’!

Recommendation for VUMI – Daniela Cordero, health insurance

Like everyone I saw the ad for a new expat health insurance yesterday. I checked it out and I just want everyone to know that from what I can tell, it is more than the ad said, namely it is extensive health insurance coverage in every country except the US and Brazil and there, it does cover emergencies.

It is designed for Cuenca expats and as such it does not cover maternity but it does cover cancer in great detail. It’s 100% in Ecuador and for emergencies, anywhere, and it includes medical evacuation. So, in other words, you never ever need travel insurance again and you are totally padded with care in Ecuador. Secondly that the insurance company behind this particular offer is based on Houston; the broker has been in business thirty years; this does not look like a Belgenica situation. Daniela Cordero is the agent I talked to – her role includes finding us the best doctors in Ecuador who also speak English. She is very focused on that. She also actually knows doctors who do house calls. I don’t have Daniela’s permission to write this – it is written for You. “Worth a look.” Hope this helps. I hope too I have made no mistakes. I am not an insurance person.

Recommendation for Chinnu and Abin, Paradise Indian Restaurant

I went to the grand opening of Paradise Indian Restaurant, as did a lot of folks, and it was great. All the tasty food I knew and loved from Namaste India but with an expanded menu and in the relaxed environs of Parque de la Madre. The culinary skill of Abin and the warmth and charm of Chinnu make a winning combination.

Why breakfast at EAT?

I know you didn’t ask, but we’re going to pretend you did for the purpose of this post.

Well first of all, thank you so much to all the nice people who have come in so far to enjoy our first few days of breakfast. Everyone seems to have been very pleased and now your job is to tell all these GringoPost readers just how much you loved it.

So every breakfast at EAT starts with, just out of the oven miniature scones with either peach or strawberry butter. Fresh flowers on the table along with a French press of dark roast coffee and fresh juice. After that, maybe an eggs benedict with smoked salmon or an order of “nuevos” rancheros, with poached eggs, chipotle crema and cilantro pesto? Or when was the last time you had eggs with BBQ rib hash? Maybe never?

Anyway, there are just a few reasons why breakfast at EAT!

And remember to bring your loyalty card as breakfast counts for a stamp as does delivery.

Thank you and we hope to share a table with you very soon at EAT.

7 days a week from 8:30 AM, 22 Main St

Sourdough bread and vegan chocolate

We baked the delicious organic breads again (no sugar, no fat, no animal products and no commercial yeasts). They are sourdough.

The mother mass is a live culture that produces wild bacteria such as lactobacillus; which breaks the gluten protein and transforms it into simpler proteins. In addition, fermentation makes a type of starch pre-digestion which reduces the glucose content in the final product.

• Who can consume our bread?

Thanks to this series of ancient and traditional processes it is possible that everyone can consume our bread. – Our production stands out for not having sugars, no fats, no animal derivatives and we do not use commercial yeasts in any of our products.

This is why it becomes ideal for people with diabetes or other conditions…

Breads available:

* Large classic bread: $5

* whole grain bread: nuts, amaranth, chia, flaxseed, wheat germ and wheat bran. $6

* whole wheat bread: flaxseed, germ and wheat bran, oats. $5

* Rye Bread: white and rye flour with caraway seeds. $5

We also have Artisan chocolate for diabetics and vegans. Contains coconut milk and stevia. and if you like we also make sour chocolate bread (you must ask 2 days in advance) this bread is made with the same vegan chocolate (suitable for diabetics). That should be part of our diet.

•Price for bread with chocolate (vegan, for diabetics, gluten free) $12.

•Price per vegan chocolate bar suitable for diabetics $7
