At the Spanish Institute of Cuenca, we provide a friendly, participative atmosphere between our international students and our Spanish teachers, and encourage our students to interact together as well. In our classes, we balance learning new information (verb conjunctions, grammar, and new vocabulary) with practical, experiential learning (conversations in class and while walking around Cuenca). We emphasize a family-style atmosphere, rather than an intensive, business-like atmosphere, in our school. For example, our teachers include our students in their daily lives and families, regularly here at school, and often in the community and at public events (holidays celebrations, festivals, and cultural events). Also, when our students need help with their daily tasks (such as finding a place to live, going to the doctor, or any other service our students need), the staff of the Spanish Institute of Cuenca is always ready to help. Because of our commitment to our students, they feel welcome and sure of themselves and their learning.
